Day 8/9 Discovering Ireland

I decided to blog these two days together because it is all of Dublin City.  Yesterday was a better day as we had the lay of the land and had got readjusted from our quiet country experience to the hustle and bustle of the city.  Wandering around we met an older Irish gentleman who provided us with tales and stories about people and the area.  He told us that Ireland was what he felt loosing the true Irish culture to the vast influx of immigrants.  After seeing more of the city sites we stopped for dinner at the oldest pub in Ireland.  Tonight we dined on m Gluiness Irish Beef Stew and Rob had traditional Irish Stew with lamb.  Robs review of the stew with lamb "alright, wild flavor and would not order again!". My beef stew delicious.  Who would have dreamt the young couple sitting beside us was from Ottawa and yep Brockville.  The girl went to TISS and was a year ahead of Lauren and the parents know Bruce and Sharon.  We had a nice time chatting and sharing stories and are meeting up at Guinness tomorrow.  After supper we had booked a ghost bus tour which was both entertaining and informative.  We know know the origin of the phrases graveyard shift, saved by the bell and dead ringer...next we were off to get coffee and ice cream and head to the light rail.  Made it back to hotel by 1130 and off to bed.

Up early to see some other sites have an ambitious agenda in front of us. 1st stop the Gaul Rob was partially interested in this this site has been used for many movie locations unfortunately I could not hear the Guide again got a great history lesson.  Next off to Jamesons where I would join the ranks of those such as josh giff as a whiskey taste tester and we acquired a 12 year old bottle of whiskey.  After a few tastes of the brew we made our way to the wax museum then St. Patricks Cathedral and finally the Guinness Storehouse.  Wow what a day after this day riding one on the Light rail with yes a buzz on from the Guinness beer fantastic way to end this trip to Ireland.  Not sure when we will be back but I am are we will at some point.
